GUIDED TOURS
1. 700 Years Tour
This tour is 4 hours in duration and visits sites that represent the time frame of 600AD to 1300AD. Follow these historical experts and gain insights into the heritage of Mesa Verde National Park as you explore its spectacular sites. Learn how the Ancestral Puebloan people thrived here for seven centuries, evolving from hunter-gatherers into a culture known for agriculture, intricate artistry, architecture and their sudden departure. Our comfortable coaches transport you to Chapin Mesa, and short walks on simple trails take you to both the earliest Mesa Top sites and to magnificent Cliff Palace the largest cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park.
Important Note: Cliff Palace will be closed for essential preservation work until May 27, 2016.
- From April 14, 2016 to May 27, 2016 the 700 Year Tour will culminate with a ranger guided tour of the most adventurous Balcony House instead of Cliff Palace.
- For guest not physically able to take the Balcony House Tour, the guides and bus will transport guests to the Chapin Mesa Museum for a guided tour.

2. Classic Pueblo Tour
This tour is 3 hours in duration and visits sites that represent 900AD to 1300AD. The First Pithouse and Twin Trees sites are excluded from this tour as they represent the time frame of 600AD to 900AD. Follow these historical experts and gain insights into the heritage of Mesa Verde National Park as you explore its spectacular sites.’
3. Farview Explorer Tour
Explore Mesa Verde National Park on a family friendly interpretive guided tour designed for all ages. Sites provide for level wide trails, easy accessibility, yet the adventure of exploration. Climb to the highest point in the park, Park Point (elevation 8572 feet / 2613m), a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding Four Corners states. View the classic period of cliff dwellings from numerous photo stops and walks while engaging in the chronological 700 year history of the Pueblo culture.
Tour Details:
- Check-in at Morefield Campground. Tour Departs at 8:00am, with a pick-up at Far View Lodge at 8:50am for guests not able to drive to Morefield.
- Tour is approximately 4.5 hours.
- Includes motor coach pickup at both Morefield Campground and Far View Lodge.
- No climbing required; no ladders to scale.
- Offered on mornings only.
- Please check in 15 minutes prior to tour departure.
- $38/each adult, $20/each child
- 8am-1pm *This tour does NOT go into Cliff Palace.

Payment Policy: Full payment for each tour seat reserved is required at time of booking.
Cancellation Policy: Please cancel more than 72 hours prior to tour departure to avoid forfeiture of full ticket value.
Check In: Check-in 15 minutes prior to departure time at the Far View Lodge Tour Desk.
Pet Policy: Pets are not allowed on the tour with the exception of registered service animals.
Miscellaneous: Interpretive guided tours visit a number of Chapin Mesa sites combining motorcoach travel and walking/hiking various distances. Sunscreen, layered clothing, hat, comfortable walking shoes, camera and drinking water are suggested items to take along on the tours. No food, gum, or drinks other than water are allowed in cliff dwelling sites. Chapin Mesa sites are at approximate 7000 feet elevation. Restrooms are available at the Cliff Palace stop. “Child” ages 5 to 11 years old, “Adult” ages 12 years and older.
