From Ruidoso (approximately 20 miles):
Come into the heart of Capitan on HWY 48 until it dead ends at
HWY 380. Jog almost directly straight across HWY380 (north) onto
HWY 246 (also called Pine Lodge Road). The Ponderosa is
1.7 miles north of this intersection on the left. It is a brown stucco
ranch house with a blue metal roof and a front porch that runs the
length of the house. If you're arriving at night there is a big silver
mail box at the road and the driveway is between 2 round red
reflectors.
From Albuquerque (approximately 175 miles):
Head south out of Albuquerque on HWY 25 towards Las Cruces. Exit
at San Antonio (#139 the exit after Soccorro) onto HWY 380 east
towards Carrizozo. Go east about 80 miles into Capitan. Once in
Capitan you’ll pass the Smokey Bear Motel on the left. Continue
past that about a block and turn left/north onto HWY 246 (there is a
bank on this corner) The Ponderosa is 1.7 miles north of
this intersection on the left. It is a brown stucco ranch house with a
blue metal roof and a front porch that runs the length of the house.

From Santa Fe (approximately 185 miles):
Head east out of town on I-25 North and take exit #290 towards
Clines Corners on HWY 285 South. Take a right on HWY 41 south
and continue through Moriarty and Estancia until you reach
Willard. Take a left on HWY 60 and then in less than 2 miles take a
right onto HWY 42 towards Corona. When you reach Corona take a
right onto HWY 54 South towards Carrizozo. In Carrizozo take a left
onto HWY 380 which will take you into Capitan. Once in Capitan
you’ll pass the Smokey Bear Motel on the left. Continue past that
about a block and turn left/north onto HWY 246 (there is a bank on
this corner) The Ponderosa is 1.7 miles north of this
